In 1892 the US Supreme Court made an exhaustive study of the connection between Christianity and the government. After researching hundreds of volumes of historical documents, the USSC asserted:
“these references add a volume of unofficial declarations to the mass of organic utterances that this is a religious people…a Christian nation.”
In 1931, USSC Justice George Sutherland reiterated that Americans are “a Christian people”.
In 1952, USSC Justice William O. Douglas affirmed “we are a religious people and our institutions presuppose a Supreme Being.”
Daniel Webster died on this day n 1852. His epitaph indicates his strong faith in Jesus Christ and that on occasion a philosophical argument, based on the vastness of the Universe - much like Darwinian Evolution today, did challenge his reason, but that his faith and the facts of Jesus birth, life, death, and resurrection reassured him and brought him comfort. Have you been challenged by the so called “facts” of Darwinian Evolution, which have been totally disproved today? If so, look to Jesus and the word of God for assurance and comfort:

That the greatest attempt at voter fraud in the nation’s history is being funded in large part at taxpayer’s expense is more than a bit ironic. House Minority Leader John Boehner, R, wants it stopped and Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, wants the group allegedly behind the fraud, ACORN, criminally investigated and prosecuted.
ACORN calls itself a “nonpartisan” group seeking to register minorities and the poor. But its political arm has endorsed Barack Obama, who both trained the group’s staff and sued the state of Illinois on their behalf. And Obama’s campaign has given ACORN affiliates $800,000 for a get-out-the-vote drive.
In fact, it’s a get-out-the-vote for Obama drive as evidenced by a video recently aired by Fox News that showed just how “nonpartisan” the group is. It was taken at ACORN’s national convention where Rep. Maxine Waters, Democrat, spoke to a sea of ACORN organizers wearing their uniform of red baseball caps and shirts.
Waters, to great applause and cheers, said: “This has been the worst presidency that this country has ever known. But that’s all right. We’re getting rid of his (President Bush’s) ass. He’s got to go.”
The next speaker, an ACORN representative defined who “we” meant. She said: “We’re getting Obama for president! Obama needs us, ACORN, but we need Obama. Don’t we? Yeah!”

On this day in 1781, General George Washington called for a service to give thanks for the British surrender at Yorktown, the day before:

Noah Webster, the pioneer lexicographer, when the first edition of the dictionary bearing his name was published, spoke of the Book he considered so much greater than the one he had just completed:

The charges involve ACORN — the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now — for which Barack Obama once served as a lawyer and as a trainer. In recent months, a picture has emerged of ACORN as a group run amok — with ACORN accused of registering thousands of bogus voters using such names as Mickey Mouse, Veronica Mars and Pat Tillman, plus names from the Dallas Cowboys.
ACORN was co-founded by Wade Rathke, a former member of the radical Students for a Democratic Society (SDS). The SDS spawned the terrorist group Weathermen — of which Ayers was a leader.
With widening evidence of massive voter fraud nationwide, the Liberal media seem intent to ignore nor investigate it, but with ACORN’s alleged voter fraud across all jurisdictions, it is now federal in scope.
With FBI seizure of many ACORN files, the Justice Department has launched a full-scale investigation.

In 1977, Jimmy Carter and a Democrat Congress created the Community Reinvestment Act mandating that banks make more housing loans to lower-income and inner-city borrowers. It was for a well-intended social cause and even appeared to work in the 1980s.

Government regulators rated banks by how well they performed in meeting these strict new CRA obligations. Failure to comply meant stiff penalties and limits on mergers, acquisitions and expansion.
Big Government forced the lowering of long-proven safe-lending standards. Most of the more than $1 trillion of new subprime CRA loans had adjustable rates. Many required no documentation of the borrower’s income and little or no down payment.

Still more evidence of how the media are in the tank for Obama was evident in Tom Brokaw’s description of Ayers on Sunday’s “Meet The Press.”
“School reformer” is how Brokaw identified the co-founder of the Weather Underground, the radical organization that, among other activities, bombed government buildings, banks, police departments and military bases in the early 1970s.
Yeah, right: Ayers is a school reformer in the same sense, as City Journal’s Sol Stern put it, as Joe Stalin was an agricultural reformer.

With Chavez at his side, Ayers voiced his support for “the political educational reforms under way here in Venezuela under the leadership of President Chavez. We share the belief that education is the motor-force of revolution. . . . Ayers told the great humanitarian Chavez: “Teaching invites transformations, it urges revolutions large and small. La educacion es revolucion.” It is that form of socialist revolution that Ayers, and Obama, have worked to bring to America.
Ayers, now a tenured Distinguished Professor of Education at the University of Illinois, Chicago, works to educate teachers in socialist revolutionary ideology, urging that it be passed on to impressionable students.

On this day in 1492, Christopher Columbus was at the edge of dispair. They had been sailing West for 32 days and seen nothing. With all three crews on the verge of mutiny, the other two ship captains had extracted a promise from him: that if they did not reach land in the next two days, they would turn back.
Yet Columbus was convinced that God had called them to this mission and that He was with them:

In 1782. Lewis Cass was born in Exeter, New Hampshire. He was the Democratic nominee for President in 1848 and served as Secretary of State just prior to the Civil War. He wrote in 1846:
“God, in His providence, has given us a Book of His revealed will, to be with us at the commencement of our career in this life and at its termination; and to accompany us during all chances and changes of this trying and fitful progress, to control the passions, to enlighten the judgement, to guide the conscience, to teach us what we ought to do here, and what we shall be hereafter.”

We live in a representative republic, a nation uniquely blessed by God. I believe God holds us accountable for the freedoms and opportunities He has provided us. Not many countries enjoy this! You have no right to bemoan the loss of that which you did not seek to protect.
Make it a personal challenge to investigate the candidates:
- Does the candidates believe in God - the one true God?
- Has the candidate demonstrated a commitment to preserving our Constitution?
- Does the candidate support homosexuality? Abortion? Health rationing?
- Does the candidate reflect your values and priorities?
As Augustine stated “Without Him we can’t. Without us, He will not”.
Pray, read His word, then act accordingly.

A 6 step plan:

Step 2. Create the “Community Reinvestment Act” — to alter FEDERAL LAW so “community organizers” can dictate lending practices to lenders.
Step 3. Encourage “Predatory Lending” — Audit lenders to ensure lending practices encourage little or no financial accountability by lenders.
Step 4. Label lenders that “fail” the audits as racist.
Step 5. Fake outrage over lenders having lent money to those who can’t repay.
Step 6. As the toxic debt collapses, blame Republicans and demand more “regulation”.
