Charley Gibson Take Note

The first National Day of Prayer and Fasting in Abraham Lincoln’s administration was the last Thursday in September, 1861:

“And whereas when our own beloved country once, by the blessing of God, united, prosperous and happy, is now afflicted with faction and civil war, it is peculiarly fit for us to recognize the hand of God in this terrible visitation, and in sorrowful rememberance of our own faults and crimes as a nation and as individuals, to humble ourselves before Him and to pray for His mercy…that the inestimable boon of civil and religious liberty, earned under His guidance and blessing by the labors and sufferings of our fathers, may be restored.”

Fr. John Corapi: Education, Faith & America
Filed under: Faith, Pro Life
Posted by: @ 8:05 am
Fr. John Corapi on Education, Faith & America  “In speaking with faithful Catholics all over the world for the past twenty years there is a consensus among them that the average Catholic doesn’t know much about their faith”  …  and most especially doesn’t know much about the Bible.

As a consequence, they are unwittingly misled by the lies of the world, since they have no Biblical foundation to accept or reject the messages from the World (Aside: to remedy this, is the mission of The Truth Project).  This is called a Biblical Worldview.

A person with a Biblical Worldview would naturally be pro-life, very firm on the subject, and not fearful of the consequences as they speak out, and of course confidently and consistently exercise their right as an American Citizen to work for, support, and vote for pro-life people as their local and national leaders.

Based on my knowledge and experience, which this article confirms, this is not the case with most Catholics.  Demographically for decades, Catholics vote Democrat (pro-abortion).  Interestingly the world is confident in this Catholic voting pattern.  What kind of witness is this to unbelievers, when the “followers of Christ” support and endorse abortion.

I remember a pre-marriage seminar I attended 29 years ago (held in a very large hall, with several thousand people) the presenter, a young priest, was openly asked why people should reject abortion.  The priest could not answer the question.  He fumbled around, hemmed and hawed; until I raised my hand, was recognized, and stood to make my clear reasoned Biblically sound defense of life vs abortion.  This courage came from an absolute confidence in the word of God.  Amazingly, the future couples listened and none spoke up to challenge the defense.  Sometimes I wonder how many babies were saved that night from the horror of abortion!

What can be said about the confidence of the priest in his worldview?  Even though he was young, had spent years studying and learning, if there was anything true about his faith and knowledge, it should have been a solid uncompromising confidence in the Bible and its revelation of God.

The Bible is the sword in our spiritual armor (Eph 6)   Christians who do not know and have complete confidence in the word of God and knowledge therof are easy targets by the World, the Flesh, and the Devil.

If the church really wants to be united, strong, and influence the culture, teach the whole word of God to all who will listen.  The corollary, vision without any action is just a dream.

Take action!  Speak directly to and require this by your pastor, Bishop, and Archbishop.    You will be amazed by the results of God working through His word (Rom 10:17).

In 1862, during prayer with Eliza Gueney and three other Quakers, Abraham Lincoln unburdened his heart.

“If I had my way this war would never have commended.  If I had been allowed my way this war would have ended before this.  But we find it still continues and we must believe that He permits it for some wise purpose of His own, mysterious and unknown to us, and though with our limited understanding we may not be able to comprehend it, yet we connot but believe that He who made the world still governs it.”

In terms of stature - of the debt we owe certain Americans for what they did for this Republic - no one stands taller than George Washington, rightly called the country’s father, and Abraham Lincoln, called its redeemer.

One of those in the next rank is John Marshall who, more than anyone else, shaped, defined the authority, and sent the tone of the US Supreme Court.

Chief Justice Marshall for more than thirty years, delighted in traveling anonymously usually in casual attire.  Once, in a hotel tavern, some young men invited him to join their debate on Christianity.  For over an hour he calmly deisarmed every arguement brought against the teaching of Jesus.  Only after he had left, did they learn who he was.

Remember neither John McCain nor Barrack Hussein Obama want to drill onshore!

1.  The Bakken Formation, in North Dakota, South Dakota, Eastern Montana.  If this does not blow your mind, you have joined the crowd of mind numbed skulls of mush.

            http://www.usgs.gov/newsroom/article.asp?ID=1911

2.  Rocky Mountain Shale in Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming.  [This next one is from two 1/2 years ago!]
-22  times as much oil as the total within Iran
-500  times as much oil as Yemen
3.  HOW can this BE? Why are we NOT doing anything?
4.  Don’t think drilling is a major solution to our national energy leadership crisis?

5.  What should YOU DO to take back America and wrestle control from the reigning Liberal leftists.
6.  Don’t want to take the time?

On September 21, 1776, a young Yale graduate student, Nathan Hale, was captured in the disguise of a Dutch school master by the British. As he was about to be hung as a spy, he requested a Bible and the services of a minister, but these last requests were refused.

His last words would never be forgotton by those who heard them:

“I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country”

Abraham Lincoln - a Republican
Posted by: @ 4:48 pm

Unbeknown to those urging him one way or the other on the question of imancipation, Abraham Lincoln had already privately written such a proclamination.  His only concern (just like Sarah Palin’s statement toher church) was it part of God’s plan?

With the Army of Northern Virginia advancing towards Pennsylvania, and the Union Army hoping to stop them at Antietam, Lincoln prayed (Charlie Gibson take note).  After the Union victory, the President informed his Cabinet on this day in 1862, of his decision to issue the Imancipation Proclamination.

“I made a solemn vow before god, that if General Lee were driven back, I would crown the result by the declaration of freedom to the slaves.”

Pat Buchanan’s “The Party is Over”
Posted by: @ 7:36 pm
Pat Buchanan is a great American but a poor prophet, not even the son of a prophet, but he is a doom and gloom soothsayer.   Remember what God said about seeking out and listening to soothsayers?  DON’T DO IT!

He is soothsaying for money and his job, just like the Priests of old who taught their traditions as The law from God while they rejected the true words of God.  They even rejected his Son.

I am fearful for the multitudes who know no better and believe these lies as prophetic denouncements on America - as if they really were wanting God to judge this nation specifically.  The method and timing of such judgments are in His hands.

Christians are ask (No Commanded) to pray for all men and most especially our leaders.

There is no other nation in world history, save Israel (founded by God Himself), founded by Believers and built by a Constitution based upon the word of God.  It appears Mr. Buchanan sees his mission as stating the objectives which the Liberals want, have been achieved - all is lost, we must give up, stop fighting.  What does this really sound like?  The Liberals!

On a similar note, Secular Capitalism has always failed!  As have Socialism, Fascism, and Communism.  Christian Capitalism (capitalism led foundationally by Christian principles) has always succeeded.  This is why our nation’s founders made Christian teaching throughout education, government, law, science, music, media, and evangelization throughout American society such an important task.  In contrast, Liberals since time immemorial have tried to remove Godly (Christian) influence from the culture and society.

Christians are commanded to pray for our nation, all those in leadership, all men, and to spread the Gospel of Christ to the ends of the earth.  I am of the opinion the majority of members of the major churches do not believe this command is imperative nor applies to them.  In fact, most major churches have abandoned basic Christian doctrines as they seek secular acceptance.  Secular acceptance from the same Liberals which want to destroy any aspect in our society that dares mention or give thought of God or Christ.

Which is the greatest command?  Read Matthew 22:36.  From this, come all the other commands.

Words from a Great President
Posted by: @ 10:17 am
The following spoken by a great American are reminders of what the Liberals are trying to do.  Read them carefully as you listen and learn from history.

You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away people’s initiative and independence.
You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.

Most church, sport, and public events sing only the first verse of this hymn, our National Anthem.  Unwittingly these are hiding the history and fitting into compliance with the anti-God elements in our society which threaten to remove “In God We Trust” from our motto and currency.  How this would change when these church, sport, and public events include these last, beautiful words:

O! thus be it ever when free men shall stand

Between their loved home and the war’s desolation

Blest with vict’ry and peace, may the Heav’n-rescued land

Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation!

Then conquer we must, when the cause it is just;

And this be our motto, “In God is our trust!”

And the star spangled banner in triumph shall wave

O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

In the early hours of September 4, 1814, a fierce storm came up further obscuring the drama that was being played out in Baltimore’s harbor.  Francis Scott Key strained to see the Stars and Stripes over Fort McHenry.  Then, at the first light of dawn, he saw her and wrote the words that have stirred our hearts ever since:

O say, can you see,

By the dawn’s early light

What so proudly we hailed

At the twight’s last gleaming…

Dems trash U.S. flags at DNC convention

“Following their national convention in Denver last week, Democratic organizers heaped up thousands of U.S. flags,…

A group of Boy Scouts brought 84 garbage bags full of the discarded flags to the site of a Republican rally in Colorado Springs today, where veterans distributed them throughout the assembled crowd. McCain supporters waved the recycled flags and chanted “U.S.A.” as they welcomed Republican candidate John McCain and his running mate, Sarah Palin.”

Democrat credentials for the national convention also portrayed the U.S. flag upside down.

Energy: America’s energy crunch is sadly self-inflicted. While others around the world engage in a mad dash to find more oil reserves, Obama and the Leftist Leaders of the U.S. seems to think $140-a-barrel oil won’t be affected by more supply.

Obama’s Disgusting Comment about Sarah Palin
Filed under: General
Posted by: @ 5:55 am

Yesterday Senator and Democrat Presidential candidate Barrak Huessein Obama ensured people know more about the real Obama:

“If you put lipstick on a pig, it is still a pig” referring to Republican Governor and VP candidate Sarah Palin.

The “unbiased” liberal controlled media quickly started damage control to help their candidate win.  “nothing in Obama’s remarks targeted her specifically” stated the Dallas Morning News blog within an hour of the report.  http://trailblazersblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2008/09/obamas-lipstick-on-a-pig-remar.html

Obama has been loosing this campaign since he went to Germany, stating “I am a citizen of the world”.  This latest statement should be what historians will call the end of his campaign.

About this time, children of all ages head back to school.  In the early 18th century lexicographer Noah Webster wrote of the teaching profession:

“The education of youth is an employment of more consequence than making laws and preaching the Gospel, because it lays the foundation on which both law and Gospel rest for success.”

Webster’s Dictionary and his History of the United States were not the only books Noah Webster authored.  His famous “blue-backed speller” sold an incredible one million copies a year for 100 years!  In one of his early editions appeared a Moral Catechism, rules for moral conduct, in which Webster stated:

“God’s Word, contained in the Bible, has furnished all necessary rules to direct our conduct”

General Washington made no secret of his Christian faith, or of his desire that others in his command should have the same resource. In his general order calling for divine services every Sunday, he said:

“To the distinguished character of a Patriot, it should be our highest glory to add the more distinguished character of a Christian.”

Thomas Jefferson, himself a slave-holder, became convinced of the evil of that “peculiar institution”.  In his will, he freed Monticello’s slaves, as he would no longer be there to care for them.

Thinking about slavery, and what it was doing to America, he pondered:

“Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that they are a gift of God?  Indeed, I tremble for my countrymen when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot sleep forever.”

In the late 19th century, Captian Alfred Thayer Mahan, United States Navy, responsible for developing the doctrine of U.S. Naval sea power, wrote books that were studied by every class in Annapolis.  This is what he said about another book:

“Upon the Bible my life rests for whatsoever is good and strong…(Christ) is to me one who speaks with authority no less than Divine, to whom I submit where I do not understand”
